Video Quality issues can be caused by many different things. Please read below for more information on what might be the cause of your issues.

Video Bitrates

There are multiple places within the Vertical Plugin settings where your video bitrate might be set incorrectly.

It’s good to have an understanding of what bitrate actually does to your video quality. We recommend taking a watch of one of Tom Scott’s videos on the subject (under 5 minutes!).

Streaming Bitrates

This is a rough guide. You need to ensure your internet upload speed can actually handle this.

Encoding settings will make the following bitrates differ in quality. The best way to find out what works for you is to test.

Platform Bitrate
Twitch (up to 1080p60) 6000 - 8000 kbps

General Settings

Under the General page is a General section, which contains a Video Bitrate setting.

If you are not using advanced settings in the Vertical plugin, this will apply to Vertical streaming & recording.

Streaming / Recording Settings

Under both Streaming & Recording pages is an Advanced section. If you are not using the main OBS settings for either, the settings you have here will apply to Streaming/Recording respectively.
